Our story

Specialized care, closer to home.

Pioneer Hearing & Tinnitus opened on June 6, 2005, at a time when people in regional communities often traveled for hours to reach specialized tinnitus care. Too many had been told there was nothing to do but live with the sound.

The clinic was created to offer another path: advanced audiological technology, evidence-informed Tinnitus Retraining Therapy, and clear guidance in a familiar local setting.

That purpose still shapes our work today. We take time to understand what has changed, explain what the results mean, and build a care plan that makes sense for the person—not simply the test.

“Careful diagnosis, understandable guidance, and local follow-up.”

Who we help

Care for the moments that matter outside the clinic.

Hearing concerns show up differently for everyone. We connect the clinical picture to the conversations, environments, and routines each patient wants to navigate more comfortably.

01

Adults noticing a change

For people turning up the television, asking others to repeat themselves, or working harder to follow conversation in groups.

02

People living with tinnitus

For people experiencing ringing, buzzing, or other persistent sounds who want a careful assessment and realistic management options.

03

Experienced hearing aid users

For people who need updated testing, objective verification, adjustments, or help getting more from their current technology.

04

People protecting their hearing

For work, hunting, music, swimming, sleep, and other settings where a custom solution may improve comfort and protection.

How we practice

Clinical expertise with a human bedside manner.

We do not build care around fear, pressure, or miracle promises. We build it around accurate measurement and a patient who understands the next step.

01

Hear the whole story

Symptoms matter, and so do work, sleep, family, recreation, and the listening moments a patient wants back.

02

Measure before choosing

Clinical findings guide discussions about sound therapy, hearing devices, protection, medical referral, or monitoring.

03

Explain the “why”

We translate test results and technology into plain language so patients can compare options without unnecessary pressure.

04

Verify and follow through

Real-ear measurement, thoughtful adjustments, and ongoing device care make follow-up part of the plan—not an afterthought.

What care looks like

A clear path from questions to next steps.

No two care plans are identical, but every visit should leave you with a clearer understanding of your hearing and your options.
